Easter 2026 and 2027 in Dominica

The date of the holiday changes each year based on the centuries-old calculations that determine the Christian Ecclesiastical Calendar. This means that the date of Easter Sunday can be anytime between 22 March and 25 April.

In the Caribbean island-nation of Dominica, the prelude to Easter really begins with Carnival in February or March and with the 40-day Lenten fast many still observe. Good Friday through Easter Monday is the culmination of the season, with Easter Sunday being the centre.

People in Dominica will attend church, enjoy festive meals with family, fly kites, and spend extra time on the beaches on Easter Weekend the same as many people in other Caribbean nations.

But there are also many special events in the spring, in April and May, that Easter tourists and locals alike participate in. There is the Domfesta art show beginning in April, the Giraudel-Eggleston Flower Show in May and June, and the Hike Fest and Jazz’n Creole Fest in May as well.
